Our mission statement is, “Making the preparation of your event as enjoyable as the celebration.” The party may last for four hours but countless hours go into the preparation of the event, and those hours should be fun and stress free. That is the service we provide.

Although I am not presenting my own company’s mission statement, it is one that I have shared the sentiment and believe that it has great value to all that are in the party business. It comes from Party City and was their mission statement at the time when Jim Shea was the CEO around 2002. It read as follows:

“Make it easy and fun for our customers to celebrate the special times in the lives of their family and friends. Offer a complete assortment of fresh and exciting merchandise at great value in an environment that provides a sense of enjoyment and discovery.”

I worked for Party City at that time and left them in 2006 to start my own store. I am now doing a temp Halloween store verses the year around party store. No matter what our stores are in regards to assortment, design or volume, we can all use the concept above of a focus on the customer approach.
