It’s said the best way to succeed in life is to act on the advice we give to others, which makes this issue’s Store Room question in which I asked about the best advice that you’ve received one extra piece to that puzzle.
Many of the responses aren’t exclusive to retail, but apply to life in general. That makes sense though, doesn’t it? In order to get from Point A to Point B in any situation – be it in business or pleasure – you have to carry with you a certain amount of knowledge, both yours and that of others. The key is discerning what works best for you and taking from it what you will.
Getting from one place to the next is also the focus of the “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” story. When it comes to theme parties, transportation has sped up to the top of the party popularity charts for both young and old, with a certain iconic green tractor leading the way.
Switching gears, it might seem odd to be talking about winter in the middle of summer, but it’s never too early to plan. The “Happy Merry Holiday” feature gives you a snowy sneak peek of what to expect when the holiday months roll around. With an evolving social context of the holiday season, a mixture of tradition and trendy is one sure way to keep those register bells ringing.
And a mixture of inspiration and intuition is what can lead you to move forward on your path, whether it is in your store or just in your life. We might not realize it at the time, but the people and situations we encounter every day have a lot to teach us when we are open to receiving their help and advice.
So trust your intuition, work hard, don’t be afraid to share your knowledge and ask questions when you need to. The answer’s always there – and maybe in this issue.
